VISA OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

In accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, foreign citizens and stateless persons may enter Uzbekistan and transit through its territory only if they have entry visas.

Visas to foreign citizens and stateless persons are issued in diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad on the basis of visa support (confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan).

Visa support is issued on the basis of an application from inviting legal entities and individuals permanently or temporarily staying on the territory of Uzbekistan, represented in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The list of necessary documents for invitation foreigners to legal entities:

- Visa application on the letterhead of the organization of the established sample;

- Electronic application form from evisa.mfa.uz website:

- Copies of passports of the invited person, the head of the organization and the authorized person of the organization, for submission of documents;

- Copies of documents for the organization (license, certificate, certificates, etc.);

- Copies of orders to the head and authorized person;

- A copy of the power of attorney of the organization for the authorized person;

- When applying for a visa upon arrival at the Tashkent airport, you must also provide copies of air tickets or reservations;

- Certificate from the work place of the invited person.

The list of necessary documents for inviting foreigners to individuals:

- Visa application form;

- Electronic application form from evisa.mfa.uz website;

- Copies of passports of the invited and inviting person;

- The original notice of the invitation issued by the internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

- Copies of documents confirming family ties (if any);

- When applying for a visa upon arrival at the Tashkent airport, you must also provide copies of air tickets or reservations.

The period for consideration of applications of legal entities and individuals in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is 10 working days subject to the established procedure for submitting documents.

To obtain a visa, foreign citizens and stateless persons must submit to the diplomatic mission or consular office of Uzbekistan abroad the following documents:

  • A passport or document of a stateless person whose validity period must exceed the validity period of the visa by at least 3 months;

  • Completed visa application form in 2 copies;

  • 2 color passport size photos.

To obtain a transit visa, foreign citizens and stateless persons, in addition to the above documents, must also have a visa of the state of travel and travel documents with a confirmed date of departure from Uzbekistan to the country of destination. The term of consideration of visa documents in this case is 3 days.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons intending to arrive in Uzbekistan from a country where there is no diplomatic mission or consular office of Uzbekistan can receive visas upon arrival in the visa support sector of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Tashkent International Airport. To do this, the inviting legal or natural person located on the territory of Uzbekistan must, in due time, apply to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in due course, receive the appropriate confirmation (stamp) of the visa support department of the Consular Department and send it to the invited person. This confirmation is presented by the invited person when purchasing an air ticket, passing passport control in the host country and on its basis a visa is issued on arrival in the visa support sector of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Tashkent International Airport.

For the processing and issuance of visas, the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan provides for the following consular fees:

  1. a) For single entry visas:

  • Up to 7 days - 40 US dollars;

  • Up to 15 days - 50 US dollars;

  • Up to 30 days - 60 US dollars;

  • Up to 3 months - 80 US dollars;

  • Up to 6 months - $ 120;

  • Up to 1 year - 160 US dollars.

Note: for each additional visa multiplicity rate increases by 10 US dollars.

  1. b) For multiple entry visas:

  • Up to 6 months - 150 US dollars;

  • Up to 1 year - 250 US dollars.

  1. c) For transit visas:

  • Up to 72 hours - 40 US dollars;

  • For a double transit visa - $ 50.

  1. d) For group visas (in the group must be at least 5 people, excluding children under 16 years of age):

  • Up to 15 days - $ 15 per person;

  • Up to 30 days - $ 25 per person.

When issuing visas are also charged fees for reimbursement of the actual costs associated with obtaining visas. The amount of such fees depends on the place of visa issuance (regardless of the applicant's citizenship).

Note: For citizens of states with which there are relevant bilateral agreements and arrangements, a different procedure may be provided for obtaining entry visas to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

By Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 3347 of October 21, 2017. "On the simplification of visa procedures for citizens of the Republic of Turkey" introduced a simplified procedure for issuing visas for the following category of Turkish citizens:

- for citizens visiting Uzbekistan for business purposes, registration within 3 working days of multiple-entry visas for up to 1 year in foreign institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the cancellation of the requirement to apply the inviting legal entity to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

- for citizens visiting Uzbekistan as tourists, issuing tourist visas for up to 1 month in foreign institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan within 3 working days with the abolition of the requirement to have tourist vouchers or inviting tourist organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

VISA REGULATION OF UZBEKISTAN WITH SEPARATE COUNTRIES

  1. A bilateral visa-free regime has been established with Kyrgyzstan (up to 60 days), Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine.

  2. Since February 10, 2018, a visa-free regime has been introduced for a period of 30 days for citizens of 7 countries: Israel, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey and Japan.

The visa-free regime applies to citizens of these countries, holders of all categories of passports (diplomatic, official and civil), who plan to visit the Republic of Uzbekistan for up to 30 days, regardless of the purpose of their trip. To enter the country, a person must have a valid national passport or other replacement document used when traveling to foreign countries.

The visa-free regime does not apply to stateless persons who permanently reside in the territories of these countries.

The visa-free regime is valid for 30 days from the date of entry into Uzbekistan. Before the end of the 30-day visa-free stay, a foreign citizen must leave the Republic of Uzbekistan. Exceeding the 30-day visa-free stay is a violation of the rules for the stay of foreign citizens in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Accordingly, if it is necessary to stay in Uzbekistan for more than 30 days, a foreign citizen must receive, in the prescribed manner, an entry visa to the Republic of Uzbekistan corresponding to the purpose of his trip.

  1. From February 10, 2018 for citizens of 39 countries (a list of countries is provided below), a simplified procedure for issuing tourist visas is introduced within two business days, not counting the day of receiving documents, with the cancellation of the requirement to provide a tourist voucher to the MFA or the application of the inviting legal / natural person in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Earlier, a simplified procedure for issuing visas was introduced for citizens of Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Italy, Latvia, France, Switzerland, Thailand, the Czech Republic and Poland.

Tourists in these countries are issued multiple-entry visas for up to 1 month, and business representatives up to 1 year without a tour voucher or application from an inviting legal or natural person in Uzbekistan to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Visas are issued within 2 business days, not counting the day of receipt of documents.

  1. Hungary, China and Tajikistan (up to 30 days), Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (up to 60 days), Brazil, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Estonia, Kuwait and Turkey (up to 90 days) have been granted visa-free regime for holders of diplomatic passports

  2. Citizens of these countries who own diplomatic passports and are accredited as employees of diplomatic missions or consular offices of their countries located on the territory of Uzbekistan, as well as members of their families have the right to enter and stay without a visa for the entire period of work.

  3. Uzbekistan and Japan on a reciprocal basis issue visas without consular fees.

  4. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 4, 2018 No. PP-3836 “On Further Measures to Improve the Procedure for Entry of Foreign Citizens into the Republic of Uzbekistan” and in order to further improve the procedure for the entry of foreign citizens into the territory of the country since July 15, 2018:

- The system of issuing electronic tourist visas (e-visa.gov.uz) for foreign citizens in respect of whom a simplified procedure for issuing visas has been established (a list of countries is attached);

- short-term visa-free entry to the Republic of Uzbekistan for a period of not more than five days for citizens of a number of states (the list of countries is attached), transit through the international airports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, if they have a ticket to a third country. This procedure applies to transit passengers who wish to see the sights of Uzbekistan;

- visa-free entry to the Republic of Uzbekistan of foreign citizens under the age of 16, accompanied by legal representatives and the presence of a biometric travel document, for the duration of the visa of the accompanying person, but not more than ninety days from the date of entry into the country.
